Stories
Your favourite AR discipline?
I am best at running but like the challenge of riding my MTB on new and exciting, more technical courses. I am also enjoying the challenge of becoming a better, stronger and more confident paddler.
Your most notable AR achievement?
Definitely winning Geoquest this year.

Your proudest AR moment?
2nd in mixed team in the KEEN Great Ocean Road Adventure Race – it was actually tougher and more challenging physically and mentally than winning Geoquest as it was so long and so tough and I was way out of my comfort zone paddling!
Your most forgettable AR moment?
Training for the Anaconda Gold Coast Event last year! On the training day I was washed up on the beach whilst trying to paddle the Tallebudgera Bar. The surf was huge and I was caught by a huge wave before I got to the bar – I lost my ski but held on tight to my paddle. I was spun round and round over and over by the extreme force/pressure of the waves – I felt lucky to survive!
The most fun you've had in an AR event?
Racing with the "Cowgirls" in Geoquest 2005 & 2006 and the "Aunties" Hells Bells in ARQ Series 2006. On these occasions I have raced in all female teams so there has been a lot of fun and laughs even though we have been aiming high!!!!
Favourite event on the AR calendar?
Definitely the KEEN Adventure race – cause it is the toughest and most challenging adventure race in Australia.
Ilove the Anaconda series too cause it's more multisport! Ijust get to give 100% in each of the disciplines and I get to see how I go as an individual (this doesn't happen when I am the girl in a mixed team or the strongest in an all female team).
What is it about AR that keeps you coming back for more?
The challenge of not knowing what you are in for and having to just be tough and deal with whatever happens. Being out in the bush and seeing some of the most spectacular environments that I would otherwise not see is also a major factor!
AR ambitions?
To keep racing at the top level in this sport for as long as I can and to be the best that I can be.
Day job?
PE teacher. I love my job and I hope that I can inspire the kids I teach to take on new and exciting challenges in their lives. That's why I love to train and race and work and just fit it all in!
Other hobbies and interests?
Adventure racing really includes most of my hobbies and interests!
Home town?
Brisbane – but moving to live in Noosa at the end of 2007 so I can have access to a better training playground.
Favourite place/location in the world?
Well I did like the Great Ocean Road, but given the Qld weather and beaches I would have to say my favourite place in the world is where I am moving too – Noosa!
