The freedom of running is simply unbeatable. It is by far my favourite AR discipline.
Your most notable AR achievement?
Becoming Australian Sprint Adventure Racing Champion by winning Lorne Anaconda 2006.
Your proudest AR moment (if different from above)?
Officially learning how to tumble-turn in the swimming pool 2/2/2007.
Your most forgettable AR moment?
Not finishing the 2004 GeoQuest due to making a number of navigation mistakes costing our team 10-12 hours.
The most fun you've had in an AR event?
Running up over Arthurs Pass with Steve Gurney and Guy Andrews in the 2004 Coast 2 Coast. We were all waist deep in water stumbling up a rocky creek bed with two helicopters only meters above our heads. I was gasping for air and in tremendous pain. However, I can remember thinking to myself this is the best and most fun run I have ever done, "would not want to be anywhere else in the world right now!"
Favourite event on the AR calendar?
Lorn Anaconda Australia and the Coast 2 Coast in New Zealand.
What is it about AR that keeps you coming back for more?
The variety in each race, different disciplines, different locations, different environments, the people, the teamwork, and of course the competition.

To keep having fun and improve in all four main disciplines. I also have ambition of introducing more people to kayaking through my own company Peak Adventure: visit www.peakadventure.com.au for more information.
